Sites of the Week

“The difference between perseverance and obstinacy is that one comes from a strong will, and the other from a strong won’t.”

Henry Ward Beecher June 24, 1813 – March 8, 1887

Factoid: There are 145 million dogs and cats in the U.S. compared with 20.2 million children under the age of 5.

Now on to this week’s sites. This week, I’m sending out three ‘Site of the Week’ recommendations.

Missing Money
http://www.missingmoney.com/

You may have already seen this Web site recently on the news. Missing Money assists you in searching for your family’s missing, lost, and unclaimed property, money and assets. Searches and claiming are FREE. Information goes securely and directly to the state/provincial unclaimed property office.

HowStuffWorks
http://www.howstuffworks.com/

HowStuffWorks is a wholly owned subsidiary of Discovery Communications and is an award-winning site with easy-to-understand explanations of how just about anything works. Their goal is to “Demystify the world and do it in a simple, clear-cut way that anyone can understand.” No topic is too big or too small. The site features both articles and videos to clearly explain each topic. In addition, the site includes consumer opinions and independent expert ratings and reviews.

iPhone 101
http://www.tuaw.com/category/iphone-101

This site comes to you via my nephew Jacob. Coincidentally, I just read a review for the new Galaxy S4 that stated “Moving from an iPhone 5 to a Galaxy S4 in 2013 is like the improvement my family experienced going from a rotary princess phone to a wireless handset in 1983.” So if you’re a Troglodyte like me and still own an iPhone, you may find this site useful.
