Sites of the Week: February 28, 2015

“A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP”

– Leonard Nimoy

Factoid: One in four Americans agrees with the statement that “God plays a role in determining which team wins a sporting event.” according to a poll by the Public Religion Research Institute.

Now on to this week’s sites. This week, I’m sending out three ‘Site of the Week’ recommendations.

DuckDuckGo (DDG)

This site comes to you via my friend, Ralph. Google has become the undisputed search engine leader, but you may want to check out this alternative. DuckDuckGo (DDG) is a search engine that emphasizes protecting your privacy. DuckDuckGo distinguishes itself from other search engines by not profiling its users and by deliberately showing all users the same search results for a given search term. In addition, the interface is less cluttered with ads and you can configure it.

National Parks Traveler

We love our national parks and monuments. If you do as well, then this site is for you. The site was launched 10 years ago and is dedicated to covering our national parks offering “…readers a unique multimedia blend of news, feature content, debate, and discussion all tied to America’s national parks.”

Ernie Orr sez “Check em out!”
